Bill Wiese is well known figure in the world of Christianity and he best known for being the author of the book, “23 Minutes in Hell” published in 2006. His books has sold millions of copies worldwide and he continues a ministry that is centered around the doctrine of hell. The above video titled, “Universalism Explained – Bill Wiese, “The Man Who Went To Hell” Author of “23 Minutes In Hell” is a 4 minute and 36 second video of Mr. Wiese attempting to explain what a Universalism is and how he disagrees with the ideology. I found it interesting that Mr. Wiese is still clinging to the fame from his book as if that provides any validity to himself or his book. Personally, I have read Mr. Wiese’s book and at the time when I read it, I was terrified because I had not come to the conclusions I have today but I can tell with great confidence that 23 Minutes in Hell was all I needed to know that I wanted nothing to do with the Christian church. If my Creator is as evil as Mr. Wiese proclaims then I want nothing to do with Him. This is the paradox of Christianity because they will say that I am rejecting Christ but the truth is that I am rejecting Christianity’s hogwash. Now that I have come into the light from the darkness of Christianity’s deception, I can tell you with absolute certainty that Mr. Wiese’s book is a total sham. It is unscriptural fabricated nonsense and the only purpose of the book was for Mr. Wiese to make money by terrorizing people. He preys on the weak minded and the natural propensity for humans to attach themselves to images and ideas of fantasy. People love stories that that go beyond the boundaries of what is known. It’s like reading a Stephen King novel. You are entertained and excited but everyone knows that it’s fiction. All Bill Wiese did was take a pagan story that has a long history throughout human history and he personalized it. You can go on YouTube and look up dozens upon dozens of people claiming to have gone to hell and experienced this or that but these are either extremely delusional people or they are simply lying through their teeth… I tend to lean more on the a latter but I’ve left room for some people to be deceived. I have to assume that not everyone is a complete liar but make no mistake about Mr. Wiese… THE MAN IS A LIAR AND A CON! Mr. Wiese has a transcript of his YouTube video included on his website and I have provided the transcript below. Mr. Wiese’s commentary will be in bold and my responses to his comments will be in normal font. May God be with you as we work together discover more truth as we uncover the lies of the enemy and his messengers.
Transcript of Bill Wiese’s YouTube Video – “Universalism Explained – Bill Wiese, “The Man Who Went To Hell” Author of “23 Minutes In Hell”
A Universalist
Someone who believes that all men are saved and will go to heaven, no matter what a person believes is called a Universalist. They say a person may go to hell for a period of time, but will eventually leave hell, and enter heaven. A Universalist states that their main objection to eternal punishment is that God is love. He would never allow such suffering. They fail to realize that God is also a God of justice and judgment.
First things first, Mr. Wiese’s definition of a Universalist is completely false. I’m not sure where he got his information from, but Universalists do not believe that anyone will be saved no matter what they believe. I know that there are differences in beliefs among Universalist but that could also be said of Christianity as a whole, nevertheless, it isn’t practical to lump all Universalists into one camp. According to Wikipedia, Christian universalism is a school of Christian theology focused around the doctrine of universal reconciliation – the view that all human beings will ultimately be saved and restored to a right relationship with God. In a nutshell without going into any details or explaining any scriptures – at the core – this is what most if not all universalists believe. In the Greek, the apocatastasis is a scriptural truth found in Acts 3:21;
whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.
This is not an unfamiliar concept but it’s unpopular today because of the thousands of years of Christian dogmas that has influenced the minds of people throughout the Church’s history. One of those dogmas is the belief that saved individuals go to a place called “heaven” when they die. This teaching is one of Christianity’s biggest idols and Mr. Wiese uses it to his advantage but where did this idea come from to begin with? I’m not going to get into the history of the belief but there are a few scriptures that Christianity has taken out of context in it’s teaching of a literal heaven. Salvation has nothing to do with going to heaven. Heaven is a spiritual realm, not a geographical location somewhere in outer space. Jesus says in John 3:13 that no one has ascended into heaven, except He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. How is this not clear enough for people? There is no context or special interpretation for anyone to cling to, to understand that “no one” means “no one”. There is a physical heaven and there is also a spiritual heaven and Jesus is speaking about the spiritual heaven. No one has ascended into the spiritual heaven or the abode of the Father except Christ because He descended from heaven. So the idea that anyone goes to heaven after they die is nothing more than a false religious idol of the mind. When people die, they are dead and they stay dead until the resurrection.
Ecclesiastes 9:2 All things come alike to all: ONE EVENT happens to the righteous and the wicked….
Christianity teaches that there are TWO events that happen to the righteous and the wicked. The righteous go to heaven and the wicked go to hell but this is where Christianity contradicts itself against the Word of God. The one event that happens to the righteous and the wicked is DEATH!
Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.
Notice from these two scriptures I’ve quoted, they are both in Ecclesiastes 9 so we are dealing with the same theme of all humanity – the righteous and the wicked. Ecclesiastes 9:10 tells us that everyone goes to Sheol and in Sheol, there is NO ACTIVITY, NO PLANNING, NO KNOWLEDGE, and NO WISDOM. But what is Sheol? Sheol is most commonly referred to as the Hebrew word for grave but the idea of Sheol is much deeper than just being buried in the ground. Sheol represents death and the state of being non-existence just like we all were before we were born. We return to being nonexistent at death just like we didn’t exist before our birth. I’ve heard all kinds of weird interpretations from people who try to context the truth out of the Word of God but scripture does not contradict scripture, scripture must harmonize with all scripture. Do you know that some Bible translations actually translate Sheol as hell even though Sheol is described in scripture as a place that is silent and where there is peace (Psalm 31:17, 1 Kings 2:6)?This is the absurdity of Christianity that I am trying to get people to see. It is time for people to wake up!
Universalist simply believe that everyone will eventually be subdued to Christ when He puts down all rule, power, and authority. Christ defeats all of His enemies which includes the lawlessness and foolishness of the human carnal mind. It is absurd to think that sinful men will be able to reject the Lord when He appears in all of His glory as He judges the world in righteousness. He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings so even the lords and kings of the earth will be under the authority of Christ so what would make anyone think that a lowly sinner could stand in the presence of our Almighty Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?
For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
Every knee will bow to Christ and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. How can Mr. Wiese then claim that Universalists believe that it doesn’t matter what people believe to be saved? Of course it matters and he is a liar to suggest otherwise. Universalists are not accountable for the ignorance of Mr. Wiese but as a man called to spread the gospel of Christ and to dispel the lies of the enemy, it is my duty to do what I’ve been called to do and that is to defend the real gospel of Christ.
I am aware that there are some sects within Universalism that believe in certain types of hell but I don’t use the word hell to teach any doctrine of God. Hell is a peculiar word and it has no place in the scriptures. Hell is often used as a synonym for “Gehenna” but this is also a falsehood. Universalists believe that everyone will pass through the fire for everyone will be salted with fire (Mark 9:49). This is a metaphor but even the righteous go through judgment (1 Peter 4:17). Mr. Wiese has a very evil and carnal minded view of judgment but his view of judgment/justice is not comparable to the justice of God. As a universalist, my main objection to eternal punishment is that it is insane. I don’t need to consider God’s opinion on this matter (even though I do) to conclude that the concept of eternal punishment is rank heresy. For one, punishment in general is typically used as a corrective measure and not a means to simply cause pain and suffering to the one being punished. It is grossly evil to cause unnecessary pain and suffering to any living creature with a conscious without some form of corrective value. Mr. Wiese believes that God’s justice is what authorizes suffering but this is a far cry from what Christ taught regarding judgment. He wants you to believe that the same Father that has instructed us to love our enemies is the same Father that is going to torture billions of people’s family members in a place called hell for all eternity. Mr. Wiese is not just wrong, he is a blasphemer of the worst breed. God’s judgment does NOT contradict or disqualify His love. There is NO scripture that says, God is judgment and while I believe that judgment is a good thing, judgment doesn’t prevail. Mercy TRIUMPHS over judgment (James 2:13).
Matthew 23:23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the Law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.
Notice here from the words of Christ that justice and mercy are included in the same basket of virtues. They do not stand as enemies of each other. God’s justice doesn’t cancel his mercy, His justice and mercy co-exist together in perfect harmony. When God’s judgments are in the earth, Mr. Wiese believes that God is going to torture the inhabitants of the world in hell for all eternity but Mr. Wiese is a deceiver. Here is what happens when God’s judgments are in the earth according to the scriptures;
With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. (Isaiah 26:9)
Remember when I told you that the idea behind judgment and punishment is correction? Well you can clearly see from Isaiah 26:9 that God is not an evil tyrant as Mr. Wiese would have you believe. He is a corrective Father who will chastise His creation to produce righteousness. God does allow suffering but any such suffering is to teach humility and not simply to inflict pain. Even earthly parents are held to a higher standard among other people to punish within the boundaries of reason but Mr. Wiese would have you believe that God punishes in the most immoral of ways. Mr. Wiese will have hell to pay (pun intended) in the day of judgment for his lies and the millions he has deceived. You can bank on that!
Our sin is deserving of eternal punishment because of whom we have sinned against. I have a video titled, Why An Eternal Hell Is Justifiable, which provides further understanding.
This is a common teaching among Christianity’s leaders and I have to admit, it’s actually kind of clever but it’s also silly at the same time. The argument is that God is an eternal being and if you sin against an eternal being, that warrants eternal punishment. In his video, “Why An Eternal Hell Is Justifiable”, he makes the argument that lying to a person and lying to the supreme court carry different degrees of consequence and Mr. Wiese is actually correct but this is still fallacious logic to justify infinite punishment. There are a few issues with Mr. Wiese’s logic and the first is his weird obsession with the word “eternal”. In his video and I quote, he says, “It took an eternal God to pay for our eternal sin”, but there is no scripture that says that our sins are eternal. In fact, the word “eternal” as it is used throughout Christianity is based on a mistranslation of the Greek word “aionios”. I have addressed this issue numerous times but to be clear here, there is NO word in the original scriptures that meant eternal or everlasting – NOT A SINGLE WORD! We can say that God is eternal if we are simply using the word to describe His existence but there are no “scriptures” that say that God is eternal. There are many “bibles” that use such language but remember, bibles are not the word of God, bibles are TRANSLATIONS of the word of God. When the scriptures were being translated from Greek to Latin and then from Latin to English, the meanings of some words were either added or changed to conform to the status quo of the Church hundreds and hundreds of years ago before any of us were born. So the true meaning of words such as “aionios” lost it’s true meaning which is “age-abiding”. God’s life abides in all ages because God has IMMORTALITY. It is a misnomer to say that God is eternal because that would be like calling an ocean a large ocean. We already know that oceans are large bodies of water so we don’t need to call them large. Likewise, we already know that God is immortal so we don’t need to call Him eternal. The scriptures tell us in Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death but it is interesting to me that the scripture writer was led to use the word “wages” in this particular verse. What are a wages? A wage is a payment so the payment for sin was eternal life in hell? Did Jesus have to go to hell since He died and paid for the sins of the whole world? NO, the payment/wages of sin is DEATH! This is what the scriptures tell us but we have lying scripture twisting hucksters like Bill Wiese telling you and I that we all deserve eternal punishment simply because God is eternal and infinite…? The idea that God who is immortal, all-knowing, all-loving, and all-powerful could ever be so bitter that He would even need to punish human beings (whom He created) for all eternity is absolutely ridiculous. If I lie to my brother, the offense is small, but if I lie to the supreme court, that’s perjury which is a far greater offense but all lying is sin (Revelation 21:8) so according to Mr. Wiese, both circumstances would warrant the same punishment i.e.. the lake of fire. Do you believe that this is a fair balance of justice? Mr. Wiese states that God is infinitely greater in position and in being which makes us deserving of eternal punishment. He makes this claim as if it is a reward for God to be able to punish His creation for all eternity just because of His position as “God” and the fact that He is immortal but this is just Mr. Wiese’s typical carnal logic. What can actually hurt God? Can God be offended? These are limitations that apply to human beings not God. I’ve never punished my children based on who I am to them and I certainly wouldn’t punish them for their entire childhood. I punished them for their actions, plain and simple. Infinite punishment for finite sins is immoral and an abomination because it is a false balance of justice;
Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, But a just weight is His delight.
They also reject an eternal hell because of several scriptures from the Bible, which they have misinterpreted. Here are just two of the verses they reference:
(First verse…)
1 Timothy 4:10 …who is the savior of all men
They believe this verse says all men are now saved, no matter what they believe. The verse doesn’t say that all men are saved. It says He is the Savior of all men. Jesus died for all men, so salvation is AVAILABLE to all men. Salvation is available because He paid for our sins on the cross. It doesn’t mean we can live a godless life, and even reject Him, and be saved. We have to repent and receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, as the abundance of Scripture states.
Universalists reject an eternal hell because it’s a lie and it’s not that difficult to discover that it’s a lie. Mr. Wiese accuses universalists for misinterpreting certain scriptures but let’s see who really has the misinterpretation. He quotes part of 1 Timothy 4:10 but let me provide the whole verse just so there’s no confusion.
1 Timothy 4:10 For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have set our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all mankind, especially of believers.
I used the New American Standard Bible because it translates “all men” as “mankind” which is the accurate meaning because we know that God doesn’t just save only men. The Greek word “anthropos” refers to humanity in general. Mr. Wiese is right that the verse doesn’t say that all men are saved. Universalists can read too but what Mr. Wiese doesn’t consider here is that God isn’t making a decree, He’s making a statement of hope which extends into the future as you can see in the verse. It is clear that “all men” or “mankind” aren’t saved at the present time in this current age of deception. Universalists do not proclaim that everyone is saved right now today no matter what they do or what they believe. That is complete hogwash it is shameful for Mr. Wiese to base his entire argument on his own false ideas about universalism. It just amazes me how hard some people fight to defend their damnable doctrines. Mr. Wiese wants the world to burn in hell for all eternity because it makes him feel special no doubt. He feels special to God and his idea about going to a heaven that billions won’t has to make him feel superior to the lost he damns to hell. This man is absolutely unbelievable.
1 Timothy 4:10 does say that God is the Savior of all men (humanity) but Mr. Wiese claims that this means that salvation is only “available” to all men. He says that universalist misinterprets this scripture but he is the one ADDING words to justify his view. The only way that God can be the Savior of all men is for Him to actually save all men because that’s what the title demands. Joe Biden is the President of America as of 2023 so he is the president of all Americans and not just the Americans that voted for him. This is a pretty simple concept to grasp but it’s not so simple to those that despise the word of God. Universalists do not support the view that a person can live a godless life before entering into God’s salvation. Just like believers on earth in this life have to go through judgment and correction, so shall it be for the wicked and unbelieving nations in the future age of judgment that Christ spoke about which was also foretold by the prophet Isaiah;
Isaiah 26:9 ….when God’s judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
The idea of rejecting God is sheer Christian ideology because godly inspiration and/or intervention has to begin with God Himself. There is no person that can turn to God without God first calling them and then working in their life to do His will. The idea that a person can reject God is about as asinine as saying that a baby can reject it’s mother’s milk. What actually happens is that God allows people to be deceived. He locks people up in blindness, sends strong delusions, and gives some over to a reprobate minds. How can someone under those conditions receive God unless He opens up their eyes and minds so that they can embrace His truth? Yes people have to repent and believe in Christ but this begins with God not with man. Universalists simply believe that Christ will be “successful” in putting down all rule, authority, and power. Christ will put all enemies under His feet and this includes the people Mr. Wiese believes can reject God.
Also, they ignore the first part of the verse, which says, “We suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the savior of all men, especially of those that believe.”
You have to trust in the living God.
From Nelson’s Bible Commentary page 1602, “God as the one who gives life, breath and existence to all. This part of the verse, especially of those who believe draws a contrast between God’s common grace to all and His special saving grace to those who trust Him as their Savior.”
What reproach is Mr. Wiese suffering? His agenda is supported by a institution that is the largest religion in the world estimated at 2.382 billion. Does that seem like the few that find the straight way and the narrow gate that leads to life? Do universalists suffer reproach? You think I can walk into a traditional Christian church anywhere in America and be embraced with love based on the views that I have? I can’t even attend a Christian seminary school unless I agree to Christianity’s fundamental dogmas. Universalists are heretics according to Christianity and promoting the doctrine of the salvation of all will no doubt get you ostracized from the churches of men. Do you really believe that Mr. Wiese trusts in the living God? Mr. Wiese trusts in dead Christianity. Christianity may be alive and well today but it is an empty religion filled with lies and tradition. Universalists trust in the living God to do what He says He will do and that is how you can test someone to determine where their trust is. Mr. Wiese denies the very words of God plainly stated in the scriptures as he glorifies the man-made creeds of Christianity. Case in point, Mr. Wiese uses another man’s commentary as if that’s supposed to trump the word of God… Thomas Nelson has no authority to superimpose his ideas in the scriptures to support the Christian ideas he already believes. This is what Christians do, they take scriptures and they try to squeeze them into their very own dogmas. This is how they attempt to twist the very truth out of the word of God. Here is a very simple illustration of what 1 Timothy 4:10 means;
Does 1 Timothy 4:10 mention anything about God’s grace? It does not but did that stop Mr. Nelson from adding his interpretation to the scripture to obscure its meaning? Salvation is NOT exclusive to believers only and we can trust this view because of the word “especially”. Let me give you an example of what I mean… I love all of the children in my entire family comprised of my children, many cousins, nieces, and nephews but I especially love my children. My own children are more special to me than my little cousins, nieces, and nephews but that doesn’t mean that I don’t love them too. I just have a greater love for my own children. Believers have a more special calling than mankind but God still loves mankind. This is the same God that teaches us to love our enemies and God is not a hypocrite.
Man has the free will to trust Him, or reject Him, thereby determining their eternal destiny.
Man does NOT have the free will to trust or reject God, man has a will that is influenced by external factors that weigh on the heart. If the church convinces you that you should give your life to Christ because if you don’t you’ll burn in hell for all eternity, do you believe that choice was free? Fear is a very powerful motivator and the church has used fear to manipulate people for centuries. I am speaking out against the church because this is abusive and completely against God’s standard. People are convinced that they have free will and since they are convinced of this, they believe that it is their responsibility to determine their eternal destiny but this is a gimmick. Christianity has fooled the masses into being repeat tithe paying church attendees with the promise of an eternal paradise called “heaven” after you die. I always thought this was the ultimate paradoxical oxymoron because everyone wants to go to “heaven” but no one wants to die and according to Christianity, you have to die first before you can go to “heaven”. That should tell you everything you need to know about Christianity’s multi-level marketing scheme to produce more Christian proselytes which increases the Church’s bottom line.
John 3:36 says, He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Did you catch that; “shall not see life.” There is no getting out of hell.
Oh Bill…. this man truly cannot see the forest for the trees but I honestly can’t blame him since he is a staunch repeater of Christian dogma. Before I go into this, John 3:36 is not properly translated. He that believes on the Son has age-abiding life not everlasting life. This is the life that abides in the age to come but some will not get to participate in that life. Those that believe not the Son shall not see life because they will not rise in the resurrection to life. When believers rise in the resurrection to life, the rest of the world’s inhabitants will still be in the grave awaiting the resurrection to judgment so that is why they do not see life. It is the life that abides in the coming age that they will miss out on but this is not an eternal sentence clearly because we know that there is another resurrection to judgment for those who have done evil. What is the wrath of God that abides on those that believe not the Son in this context? Hell? This is nothing more than a Christian assumption based on the dogmas of Christianity. To Mr. Wiese, not seeing life equals hell but the wages of sin is death not eternal life in hell. The death sentence will still abide over those that believe not on the Son and that is why they do not see life in the coming age. How can a person suffer in hell for all eternity if they do not have life? These are blatant contradictions that cannot be ignored if one is serious about growing in God’s truth.
Jesus said in John 6:40, And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which seeth the Son and believes on him may have everlasting life.
Age-abiding life not everlasting life.
In Luke 13:3 Jesus said, Unless a man repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Repentance is a requirement for salvation.
Of course repentance is a requirement for salvation but perishing has never been a eternal sentence for mankind according to the scriptures. Notice that I said scriptures and not “bible” because there are many bibles that follow after the bad translation tradition of the King James Bible. Even the righteous perish along with the wicked and both the righteous and the wicked will rise from dead as it is recorded in Daniel 12:2;
Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting age-during life, and some to shame and everlasting age-during contempt.
Do you think that Mr. Wiese believes that people can repent after the grave? I think we know the answer to that question but what does it mean to repent anyway? To turn to righteousness from sin yes?
Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever the age and ever beyond.
According to Daniel, MANY will be turned to righteousness after the resurrection to shame and contempt so it appears that there will be repentance after the grave. Imagine that!
Another verse used incorrectly is:
1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. They believe all are made alive thereby all are saved.
Believer’s Bible Commentary page 1806 says, “The key expressions are “in Adam” and “in Christ”…all who are in Adam die. All who are in Christ shall be made alive…the “all” who shall be made alive is defined in verse 23 as those who are Christ’s at his coming. It does not include Christ’s enemies, for they shall be put under his feet (vs. 25).”
In other words, if you die in Adam, you go to hell, and if you die in Christ, your sins are forgiven and you have eternal life.
1 Corinthians 15:22 is a go to verse for Universalists and I’ll freely admit that but for Mr. Wiese to suggest that our interpretation is incorrect is an opinion he must adhere to since he believes in Christianity’s pagan hell. For some reason, Mr. Wiese seems to think that his inclusion of quotes from certain commentaries is supposed to add credibility to his argument but this is nothing more than an appeal to Christian authority. Notice that he did not use any other scriptural witnesses to support his claim, he went outside of the scriptures for support for his argument. Nonetheless, let me critique the statement he quoted from the Believer’s Bible Commentary. The first thing that I noticed is that the commentator switches some words around to change the meaning of what is written in 1 Corinthians 15:22. The scriptures say, “for as in Adam all die” not “all who are in Adam die” as to suggest that some do not die in Adam. Everyone dies in Adam and this is supported by scripture in Romans 5;
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
For as in Adam ALL DIE! This is a definitive objective statement. Because of Adam, all of humanity suffers the death penalty so all of humanity dies “in Adam”. Now notice that the same all is in view here… It’s the same all, all of humanity. The same all of humanity that die “in Adam” is the same all of humanity that is made alive “in Christ”. To suggest that there is a defining action that distinguishes someone from being “in Adam” and opposed to being “in Christ” would require and explanation as to what humanity had to do to be “in Adam”. If people have to do something with their own supposed free will to be “in Christ”, what did humanity have to choose to die “in Adam”? Romans 5:12 says that death passed upon all men based on Adam’s sin and not by any choice on the part of humanity. We were born into sin and if you read Romans 5:12-19, this truth is further supported. Is Adam greater than Christ? Adam was successful in being the killer of the world but Christ will fail at being the savior of the world? That would seem to exalt Adam over Christ but this is the Christian position that is supported by many Christian leaders that hate the idea of God saving all sinners. All of humanity will be made alive in Christ and this is made clear because the Apostle Paul says EVERY MAN IN HIS OWN ORDER! There is an order to the all being made alive in Christ but you wouldn’t know that because the Believer’s Bible commenter left that part out of his or her lazy exegesis and Mr. Wiese made sure to make no mention of it either. Let’s take a look at the scriptures;
1 Corinthians 15:22-24 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
If those who are Christ’s at his coming are the “all” that is made alive in Christ, then why does the Apostle Paul include the word’s “every man”? Every man is made alive in Christ but each in their own order. Christ is the firstfruit of the resurrection of the dead;
1 Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
If there are firstfruits, then we can be assured that there are more fruits to come as the scriptures do not say “onlyfruits”. Why would the Apostle Paul use this kind of agricultural language to describe the all being made alive in Christ? The answer to that question has everything to do in the context of God being all in all which is the primary theme of 1 Corinthians 15. Christ uses the same language in some of His parables regarding the end-time harvest but Christ doesn’t gather in crops, He gathers in souls. The purpose of any good harvest is to gather in as many crops as possible so a harvest that produces a small amount of crops would not be a good harvest. So if we apply the same harvest symbolism to the salvation of souls, a soul saving harvest that results in only a select amount of souls being saved would be a poor salvation campaign. We can’t ignore these symbols and the parabolic parallels that were used by the original bible authors in substitution for the gross interpretations of the likes of Bill Wiese.
There were 3 major harvests or feasts in ancient Israel called the Passover (Barley) Harvest , the Pentecost (Wheat Harvest), and Tabernacles (Grape Harvest). Jesus is our Passover so He is the firstfruit of God’s resurrection harvest of souls. When barley is harvested, it’s outer husk has to be destroyed in order to get to the grain inside. This is symbolic of Christ’s body being destroyed on the cross for the sins of humanity in the production of spiritual children. Next are those who are Christ’s at His coming which is the body of believers symbolized by “wheat” in the feast of Pentecost. In Matthew 13:30 the wheat are gathered into Christ’s barn but wheat also has a refining process. Wheat also has an outer shell and during it’s processing, the wheat has to be baked for it to become unleavened (made without sin since leaven represents sin). The righteous pass through the fire just like the wicked but this of course happens at different times. The final feast is the feast of Tabernacles symbolized by “grapes”. In 1 Corinthians 15:24, this event is described in an obscure way as in “then comes the end” but the beginning of this verse is a continuing theme from the same thought in verses 22 and 23. There was no need for the bible translators to begin a new sentence except to possibly hide the true meaning of this passage. What is the end? What does this mean? The Complete Jewish Bible uses the word “culmination” which is a better way to describe the completion of God’s plan. Before the end comes, Christ puts down all rule, power, and authority and He even abolishes death. The Believer’s Bible commentator expressly stated that this event does not include the enemies of Christ but remember that all will be under subjection to Christ. If Christ doesn’t bring His enemies into subjection then He will not have put down all rule, power, and authority. The end or the culmination of these events is the finality of God’s harvest of souls or the order of every man being made alive in Christ which includes His enemies. Being placed under the feet of Christ is not a declaration of exclusion but a demonstration of Christ’s supremacy over all of humanity. In order to make wine, grapes have to be crushed under foot and this symbolism describes how Christ will subdue his enemies and bring them under his authority.
Revelation 19:15 Coming out of the rider’s mouth is a sharp sword. He will strike down the nations with the sword. Scripture says, “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He stomps on the grapes of God’s winepress. The winepress stands for the terrible anger of the God who rules over all.
So in the words of Christ (not Bill Wiese), God will be all in all! Dying in Adam has nothing to do with going to hell. Being made alive had nothing to do with eternal life. Bill Wiese doesn’t have a clue what he is talking about and it is shameful that he has some many people deceived.
2 Peter 3:9, The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. In other words, some perish, if they don’t repent.
Mr. Wiese doesn’t understand the biblical concept of perishing. We all perish but perishing without a resurrection is foreign to the bible. Those who don’t repent in this age will be subjected to a much harsher judgment that will cause them to repent and turn to God. Some of you may feel like this is a violation but God doesn’t belong to us, we belong to God. It is a not a violation for a loving parent to chastise their child because they expect better behavior from their child.
Galatians 3:22, But the Scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
The promise is aionios (Greek) age-abiding life. This is something we already know and this promise is not made to those who don’t believe but this presents a very interesting paradigm as to what it means to believe. There are many that think they believe but they don’t because they don’t even know Christ. They know Christianity and they have substituted Christ for Christianity. We have to believe the words of God not the dogmas and traditions of men.
The Great White Throne Judgment
Revelation 20:12-15 says, and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them, and they were judged, every man according to their works. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. These are not going to heaven.
Nobody goes to “heaven”. John 3:13 No one has gone up to heaven except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man.
Why is it so hard for Christians to give up their false idols of the heart? I recognize that these ideas have been taught for centuries but anyone who claims allegiance to Christ cannot continue to believe this lie since Christ Himself has told us that NO ONE has gone up to heaven save Christ. Believers live with Christ on earth when God establishes His new kingdom on earth. Heaven is a spiritual realm that doesn’t have physical boundaries. A person can be “in heaven” right now on earth if they are walking in truth and righteousness with God.
Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”
Do you really believe that this is referring to literal people dwelling in a literal heaven with God? If that were true, then we would also have to explain who inhabits the sea. This is spiritual language and these realms have to do with how we exist on a spiritual plane. Heaven = Believers (the Elect), Earth = Religious people (Christians), and Sea = Carnal humanity.
Philippians 3:18, the enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction. Their end is not heaven, but destruction. No reprieve.
Ughhhhh… This guy is like a broken record. Being destroyed is NOT an eternal sentence. The enemies of the cross of Christ (which includes Bill Wiese) will suffer a destruction (death) that is age-during and then they will face the judgment but when God’s judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness (Isaiah 26:9). So much for Bill’s no reprieve.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:13-14, many are going to hell and few are going to heaven. Universalism says everyone goes to heaven.
Remember that there will be consequences for adding to and taking away from the word of God and that is exactly what Bill has done here. Jesus never said what Mr. Wiese has claimed here and the words hell and heaven aren’t even in the passage of scripture he quotes.
Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Mr. Wiese assumes that destruction equals hell and life equals heaven but this is where he is mistaken. There is a theme throughout the New Testament where we read the phrase, “many are called but few are chosen” and this is one of the most overlooked scriptural truths in the entire bible. The few that find the narrow gate that leads to life are CHOSEN! Why are they chosen? Because God decides whom to have mercy on and whom to harden. Is God not the Potter?
Romans 9:21-23 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,
Vessels of wrath PREPARED for destruction? You read it just like I did. You can’t choose the narrow gate anymore than a person can choose to live longer. Humanity belongs to God and it is God that chooses who to call and who to use for His purposes. Men do not get to rewrite God’s script but men like Bill Wiese try to. He says, many are going to hell and few are going to heaven even though there are 2.382 billion supposed Christians no less. That’s a lot of people left behind according to Bill’s hypothesis but this man hardly gets anything right except for telling lies. Universalism does not say that everyone goes to heaven, universalism teaches and believes that God will be all in all which is what the scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:28.
Will you believe a Universalist, or Jesus?
Jesus was and is a Universalists! He is the Savior of the world and He will not fail. Will you believe Bill Wiese the spiritual terrorist? That is the real question for you….
God bless you all.
