Dr. Frank Turek “logically” explains to an atheist why God sends people to Hell.
In this short video, I will explain why Dr. Frank Turek’s explanation is not only “illogical” it is also unscriptural and completely untrue. Dr. Turek begins his explanation with a false presumption. He states that, “if God exists, there are only TWO possibilities… He goes on to explain that in “eternity” you’re either going to be with God or without God. Well, to be matter of fact, there is NO such thing or place as “eternity”. The idea and concept of time never ending is completely man-made and it is actually an oxymoron. Time itself is a work created by God for we all know that in the beginning God created… God created time so it is irresponsible for Dr. Turek to suggest that God is somehow bound to or limited by time. God doesn’t exist in some place called eternity. All beginnings have an end so there is no such thing as an eternity. God is not able to die so time would be irrelevant for Him anyway and He exists outside of time.
What if God wants everyone to be with Him? What would stop God from getting want He wants? Man’s free will? I don’t think so… The wills of men do not trump the will of God. Where does Dr. Turek get his supposed logical two options from? If he is really speaking to an atheist, then he should know that atheists are not bound to the religious dogmas that Christians are held to. He assumes that what he thinks is exactly what atheists should think. I would argue that it is people like Dr. Turek that actually influence atheism as opposed to theism. There is nothing about Christianity’s version of God’s gospel that is “good news”.
He says, “if you want to be with Him (God), you will seek Him out and be with Him”, but I remember a scripture in Romans that tells us that NOBODY seeks after God…
Romans 3:11 There is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God.
How many is “none”? Apparently Dr. Turek believes that he is exempt when it comes to seeking after God. Let me show you why it is IMPOSSIBLE for man in his purely carnal state to seek after God.
Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity (hostile) towards God…
Humanity was made FLESH (carnal) and it takes spiritual and supernatural intervention on the part of God to begin a work within a person.
John 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
How is this scripture hard to comprehend? Before anyone can come to Christ, God must first draw that person. Drawing a person is intervention so how can anyone seek after God if that person isn’t being drawn by God? It is clear that God isn’t drawing everyone to Christ in this age of wickedness.
John 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you…
Ephesians 1:11 tells us that God works “ALL” things after the counsel of man’s will? NO, after the counsel (law) of His own will.
God is in control and God does the calling and the choosing…
Now, Dr. Turek wants you to believe that God will not “force” you to do anything against your own will but what is it about man’s will that God is so scared to violate? Dr. Turek uses an analogy to explain the “love relationship” and uses the love relationship of a man seeking a woman. I find this analogy to be ineffective and inappropriate for God is not seeking a date or a hookup with humanity. God wants a FAMILY of spiritual sons and daughters and if it is God’s will for humanity to go through a temporary life of learning good and evil as a step in achieving that ultimate outcome, who are we to question it? In this context, the appropriate love relationship between God and humanity is similar to that of a parent and their children or creator to creation.
Here is how silly Dr. Turek’s analogy is…
In Dr. Turek’s analogy, he compares God’s relationship to humanity to the relationship of a man and a woman but there are problems with that comparison. The first issue is that a man doesn’t create the woman that he will eventually marry. A woman has no obligation whatsoever to do anything any man says without being compelled in one way or another. If a man is not able to woo a woman to the point to were she is interested in him, the man would be SMART to leave her alone. It has nothing to do with love… Can you imagine a parent telling their child to get out of their house and leave their presence just because the child was disobedient or not showing interest or appreciation for everything the parent did for them? Raising and teaching children is a PROCESS and it is also a process for humanity being made into the spiritual image of God. Why are children expected to love their parents? Because their parents loved them FIRST right? Children are dependent on their parents for EVERYTHING… a baby without their parents to care for them would die. It is no different with God… when God reveals Himself to humanity and He opens up their hearts enough for them to receive His love, they in turn choose to love God back because God loved them first. If God can raise people from the dead then I think it’s well within the power of God to cause and promote radical change in His creation with the necessary and appropriate motivations.
I find it interesting that people like Dr. Turek like to use words like “force” since it has a negative connotation but is it possible for God to motivate in a way that doesn’t necessarily have a negative implication? Sure He can and God uses many forms of positive inspiration to motivate people to change. Love is the most powerful motivator of all motivators but it is clear that Dr. Turek’s understanding of love is purely carnal. Dr. Turek says that God is too loving to “force” a person into His presence against their will but where did humanity get their will from in the first place? Was it not God that created humanity subject to vanity (worthlessness)? Let’s read Romans 8:20 from several bible translations…
For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, (King James Version)
For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope (New International Version)
Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, (New Living Translation)
For creation was condemned to lose its purpose, not of its own will, but because God willed it to be so. Yet there was the hope (Good News Translation)
The created world was held back from fulfilling its purpose. But this was not the result of its own choice. It was planned that way by the one who held it back. (New International Reader’s Version)
So much for God being too scared to do something against humanity’s will. Do earthly parents “force” their children to do things against their will? Of course they do but even that is typically out of love as a part of the child-rearing experience. When children mature into adults, they typically understand that there parents had to be harsh at times so that they would learn to be responsible. Dr. Turek likens God to that of a man and he likens himself and man to that of a god. That my friends is the mark of the beast… the temple of God is YOU for God dwells in temples not made with hands. God doesn’t exist in church buildings made by men. There will NEVER be a literal man that walks into a literal temple and proclaim to the world that he is god. When man sits at the throne of his own heart and proclaims, “I am god”, that is the mark of the beast and we are all guilty of it because the “beast” or the man of sin (the anti-christ) lives in all of us.
Christianity is Mystery Babylon and Dr. Turek is one Mystery Babylon’s spiritual terrorists. Dr. Turek is a messenger of the devil and he doesn’t even know it. The devil uses deception as his primary tactic to influence the world and he uses the ministers of Christianity to continue deceiving the world. There is NOTHING and I do mean nothing that Dr. Turek teaches that is true. He understands nothing when it comes to God’s purpose for humanity. It is a shame that he is in a position to teach because so many people look up to him for spiritual guidance and leadership. Dr. Turek says that God gives us up to our own desires which is not necessarily untrue, but he falsely assumes that this act by God is actually what “hell” is or total separation from God. Really? Hell is separation from God? You have to be with someone first to be separated from them.
Psalm 139:8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. (New King James Version)
We already know that “hell” is not an appropriate translation but even without any consideration of that, Psalm 139:8 proves Dr. Turek’s interpretation to be false. There is no such thing as separation from God. Dr. Turek’s believes that the world chooses hell if they do not endorse Christianity’s false gospel. He is wrong and there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth for him in the judgment. God doesn’t send anyone to some pagan underworld of torture called hell. In this life we will always have those with and those without. That is God’s will for now but it is also the will of God that none should perish and God says that He will do all that He pleases.
So rest assured that God doesn’t and will NEVER send anyone to Christianity’s pagan hell. Christians are the only people dead set on sending anyone to their beloved torture chamber all in the name of God. Remember that God tells us that He will be “ALL in ALL” in 1 Corinthians 15:28; Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all. So, “all things”… which means everything minus NOTHING (with the only exception being God the Father) will be made subject to Christ. That means that there is NOTHING in the created world that will be more powerful than Christ. There will be no force, idea, thought, desire, or ANYTHING that will not be in subjection to the authority of Christ. Christ will put EVERYTHING under him and this includes the will of men. ALL MEN will be subjected to Christ! But guess what, Christ will ultimately be subjected to God in the end which effectively result in God living and existing in EVERY single person that has ever lived. God will be ALL in ALL!
